Haldia Institute of Technology Admission 2025

Haldia Institute of Technology admission to BTech for 2024-25 session will start with registration of WBJEE counselling in July 2024 (tentative). Students at Haldia Institute of Technology get admission based on their perfomance in the entrance exam and qualifying exam. Entrance exams conducted by MAKAUT are compulsory for Haldia Institute of Technology admission. For admission to MTech, both GATE and WB, PGET scores are valid, but  PGET scores are given more importance.

Haldia Institute of Technology selection criteria depends on marks accepted in the last qualifying exam and entrance exam scores. Candidates have to meet the minimum eligibility as well as hold a valid cut-off score to be admitted to HIT. Here we have the course-wise selection criteria for all UG and PG courses.

Class 12 Marks 

Candidates who have completed 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biotechnology, or a related subject from a recognized board are eligible to enrol in the B. Tech program at Haldia Institute of Technology. In addition, candidates must have earned a Diploma in Engineering from a recognized university to be eligible for admission to the B. Tech LTE program.

Graduation Marks

Haldia Institute of Technology offers a two-year M. Tech program in five fields. A two-year MBA program and a two-year MCA program are also available at the institute. Bachelor's degree in B.E/B. Tech is required for admission to the M. Tech program. Students who have completed a three-year graduation program or a BCA degree and studied Mathematics as a compulsory subject at the 10+2 or graduation level are eligible to apply to MCA. The university also conducts a group discussion and personal interview before reaching a final decision.

Entrance Exam Scores 

WBJEE is the entrance exam required for B. Tech courses. The candidate for B. Tech lateral entry is chosen based on their performance in the WBJEEB's WB JELET exam. M. Tech candidates are chosen by the WB PGET or GATE entrance examination. Graduates from any discipline are eligible for the MBA program, and candidates are chosen using the WB JEMAT. WB JECA is the accepted entrance exam for the MCA program.

Haldia Institute of Technology does not have direct admissions (except under the management quota) for any of its courses. Students have to appear for the above-mentioned entrance exams and qualify for the counselling rounds held by the respective authorities. Candidates interested in studying at HIT have to list the institute as a preference when filling in choices in the counselling rounds.

> Before commencing the counselling process, students must first apply for the West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam Board (WBJEEB). Haldia Institute of Technology accepts JEE-Main results too for B. Tech admission. 

> The Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology provides the West Bengal University of Technology Postgraduate Entrance Test to students interested in pursuing an M. Tech degree (PGET).

> The All India Management Association (AIMA) MAT or the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal's JEMAT must be taken by students interested in the MBA program.
